Confirmed: Southampton ready to sign Dutch starlet in January

Tonny-Vilhena-Feyenoord

Premier League outfits Southampton have been heavily linked with a move for Feyenoord midfield ace Tonny Vilhena who is out of contract in the summer, and according to the SoccerNews reports Dutch team could try cash in on player.

Earlier this week Saints Boss Roland Koeman has confirmed that his team will try to lure Vilhena when the transfer window will be re-opened.

“He is an exciting player, very young, but already experienced, with a lot of drive and power in his game,” Koeman told Voetbal International.

“You have to judge him in his age category and then Tonny is very advanced. When I looked at the youth players at Southampton, there were few left-sided players with his speed. Unfortunately, it did not work out.”

Koeman played an important role in Vilhena careers development as he has gave Dutch starlet his debut with Feyenoord, and despite leaving Eredivise team Saints boss always expressing an interest for youngsters progress.

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
