Tottenham Hotspur’s top scorer Harry Kane and midfielder Mousa Dembele will miss Europa League last 32 second-leg with Fiorentina, according to the manager Mauricio Pochettino.
During the pre-match press conference, the Spurs boss said: “We expect and hope he will be available on Sunday. Today he wasn’t here as he is seeing a specialist about his nose.”
While Dembele is expected to miss around two weeks due to the groin strain that forced him off against Crystal Palace. “Mousa we expect [to be out for] longer than Harry — 10 days to two weeks,” the Argentine boss added. “It’s not a big issue, but similar to before. It’s small but we have a lot of games ahead, so it’s come at a very bad moment.”
The Daily Telegraph reported that the English international is not expected to miss any league game despite the broken nose, which was confirmed after the game against the Eagles. He will wear a protective mask and lead the White Hart Lane outfit’s title charge.
The good news for Spurs supporters is the recovery of No.1 choice stopper Hugo Lloris and winger Erik Lamela, who will be involved in the game tomorrow after a recent illness ruled him out of the Palace defeat.
The North London club will also be without Tom Carroll, Clinton Njie and Jan Vertonghen against Fiorentina, while teenagers Cameron Carter-Vickers and Shayon Harrison could be included.
Considering the injury updates this is how Tottenham could line-up against Fiorentina: Vorm, Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose, Dier; Lamela, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Chadli.
