According to Sportnet, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Naby Keita. Reportedly, the 21-year-old has caught the attention of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger with his performances for the Austrian outfit this season. It is understood Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Keita in action as they consider making a move for the creative central midfielder. The Guinea international has been in stunning form for the Austrian side this season, scoring ten goals and providing eight assists in just 23 league appearances. The 21-year-old is already being compared to Southampton’s Sadio Mane who also rose through the ranks at Salzburg.

  • Keita has recently signed a long-term deal and has no release clause in his contract, however, so the Londoners may need to splash the cash if he wishes to land the target.
  • Considered a box-to-box midfielder, Keita has proven he has potential to score goals from midfield, having already hit double figures this season, but Arsenal have already signed his style midfielder Mohamed Elneny in January and it’s less likely to add another unproven player on the same position.
  • Wenger has confirmed that he will have money to spend in the summer, so he might aim more experienced and quality players to help winning titles.

Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Arsenal Set to Sign in-form Midfielder, Compared With Sadio Mane’ are ‘mostly false’. mostly falce

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
