According to Italian publication ITA Sport Press, Arsenal have lined up AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca to replace Alexis Sanchez, who has scored just once in his last 10 games – against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby – and just seven times in the Premier League all season. Spanish news outlet Don Balon claim Atletico Madrid have made Sanchez one of their top targets this summer. Bacca, who only joined the Serie A giants from Sevilla last summer for €30 million, has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances for the Serie A outfit but is now being linked with a move to north London, and Munich.
- It seems very unlikely the Gunners to sell Sanchez, who signed for Arsenal for £35m two years ago and has been impressive since his move from Barcelona.
- Even if the Chilean leaves, Bacca can’t be his replacement, as they are playing in a different positions and clearly isn’t as explosive, quick and creative as Alexis.
- Bacca’s agent Sergio Barila has insisted that his client is “very happy” at his current club and doesn’t plan departure.
- AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani also claimed that the club don’t consider selling “one of the best forwards in the world”.
Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Arsenal Want the €30m Proven Goal Scorer, as Sanchez Replacement’ are ‘mostly false’.
