According to The Sun, Arsenal will make £13m move to secure the services of highly-rated Spezia Calcio striker Umar Sadiq when the summer transfer window re-opens. However, Arsenal are not alone in the race to sign Sadiq, with the player’s agent revealing Bundesliga giants Dortmund are also in the hunt to recruit the starlet. The gangling 1.92m teenager, whose physique and style reminds one of former Arsenal man Nwankwo Kanu, scored a record-breaking 24 goals in 26 games in the Italian youth league, generating interests from all of Italy’s biggest clubs. The 19-year-old joined A.S. Roma for the 2015/16 season on loan from Spezia, but Giallorossi have the option to purchase the forward for €2.5 million.
- Most importantly for a hitman, he has an exceptional goalscoring record, which is something the Gunners are, quite frankly, crying out for. A natural finisher, Sadiq would surely bury chances like Danny Welbeck’s late on against Watford, and avoid goal droughts as long as Olivier Giroud has had this season.
- He’s 6’6″ tall, that is always a useful quality in the many physical battles of Premier League football.
- Sadiq’s agent Mohammed Lawal has confirmed interest from Arsenal.
Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Arsenal Will Make £13m Offer for the Towering Offensive Prodigy’ are ‘mostly true’.
