Paris Saint-Germain Ready to Replace Zlatan With Everton Star

Paris Saint-Germain are still trying to convince Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay at the French capital beyond the summer, but the reality is that they need to think about a possible plan B and according to reports in France, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku could be one of their first options.

There are reasons to believe this move could happen, the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, also happens to represent Ibrahimovic, so it would suit the Italian to move one client out and another one in.

However, it also means that Raiola could be using Zlatan’s future and the needs of the French champions to raise interest in the Belgian forward and start a bidding war – with the agent benefiting greatly.

Even if Zlatan decides to stay, it’s likely that PSG are still looking for a striker with Edinson Cavani also set to move on at the end of the season. Having to replace both is difficult, but the Everton forward has all the attributes Laurent Blanc would be looking for.

In 30 games this season, the 22-year-old has scored 18 goals and most importantly, added six assists. He is the ideal player to play as the number 9, holding the ball up for others while charging forward with pace and power.

Several clubs are interested in the forward, but Raiola will want the best deal for his client and he’ll know more than anyone what PSG can offer. The French club will have no problem matching whatever offer Everton are looking for.

Alternatively, PSG are looking for a superstar and would prefer to spend the majority of it’s budget on recruiting a player who has already performed at the highest level. Lukaku’s lack of Champions League experience could put them off, however, Premier League experience could help mask that.

Rather than spend almost double on luring Neymar from Barcelona, it could be much more interesting to take Lukaku’s game to another level under the bright lights of the Eiffel Tower.

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
