According to the Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea new manager Antonio Conte planning to raid Seire A and bring several big-name players at Stamford Bridge. His shortlist reportedly includes Napoli bomber Gonzalo Higuain,  Juventus stars Leonardo Bonucci and Paul Pogba, and Roma pair Antonio Rudiger and Radja Nainggolan, who probably won’t leave the capital for less than €40m. However, it’s understood that Juve centre-back is Conte’s priority, as skipper John Terry is expected to leave at the end of the season, but Conte he fails to sign Bonucci, will try to secure the services of Rudiger, who was been linked with Chelsea, before move to Italy in 2015.

  • As Leonardo Bonucci has recently stated that he won’t follow Antonio Conte to Chelsea, Rudiger could be an excellent alternative.  The 6ft3 powerhouse is currently on loan from Stuttgart, but Roma have an option to convert that to a permanent deal for €9m this summer. However, the Blues could still have a chance to sign him up in case of financially interesting offer.
  • The defending English champions are in need of quality centre-back, as Gary Cahill,30, has been struggling this year, Terry is at final stages of his brilliant career and Kurt Zouma is still inexperienced. While Rudiger has been huge for Giallorossi and secured the place in Germany national team at Euros. The 23-year-old made 26 appearances in Serie A, netted once, has won 26 tackles with a success rate of 54%, via squawka, also has made 36 interceptions,  94 clearances and six blocks.
  • Back in 2014, Rudiger admitted his ‘dream’ has been to move to the Premier League and now could be given a chance to become an important part of Conte’s ‘New Chelsea’.

Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Cone Wants Serie A Star at Chelsea, But 6ft3 Powerhouse is the Alternative ’ are ‘mostly true’. Mostly true

The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
