According to the German newspaper BILD, Tottenham Hotspur versatile midfielder Eric Dier is a top transfer target for the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The report suggest that the 22-year-old has been watched by Bayern scouts in recent weeks and were particularly impressed with his performance for England against Germany. He scored the winner in the 3-2 friendly win last month, with Dier successfully shutting down star Mesut Ozil. The former Sporting man has made 45 appearances this season for Tottenham and bagged four goals.

  • Dier’s progress is clear this season and he has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino’s man. Despite being a right-back naturally, has been deployed as defensive midfielder and even England boss Roy Hodgson prefers to use youngster in the heart of midfield. Bayern’s interest seems to be sensible, but it’s less likely Spurs to sell player, who is contracted till 2020 and still developing.
  • Another question is if the English international would love to leave White Hart Lane, where he’s guaranteed place in the starting Xl. Also Dier has severally stated that he’s happy being part of Pochettino’s team.
  • Tottenham are financially very strong team and their goal is to keep leaders and reinforce and reinforce the squad. Moreover, Spurs will play in Champions League next season and despite of being giants of European football they don’t have a big advantage over the title-chasing Londoners.

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
