Contract until: June 2019

According to the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool and Everton targeting highly-rated Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. The France international star expected to cost around £22m could go to either Merseyside club as Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke are set to make summer exits.  Per WhoScored.com, Lacazette, last year finished with an incredible tally of 27. The 24-year-old has been huge for the France club this season as well and bagged 18 goals in 38 appearances and and is expected to be included in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for Euro 2016.

  • With Lukaku has already hinted about his possible departure in the summer and Benteke doesn’t fit in Jurgen Klopp’s playing time both sides might think about signing a quality goalscorer.
  • However, Everton could have an advantage here, as the France striker could have a better chance to become the starter at Toffees, than at Arsenal and Liverpool, as there are lack of competition on his position at Goodison Park.
  • Stammers stated his price will be around £22 million, which seems absurdly low for a proven scorer who is years from entering his prime and has established himself as Lyon’s most important player.
  • In January Lacazette has admitted that he is ready to move to the Premier League.

Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘The Mersey Rivals Battle for the Signature of £22m-rated, 18-goals Striker’ are ‘mostly true’. Mostly true

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
