Contract until: 2019

According to Voetbal International, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a move for FC Utrecht forward Sebastien Haller, who will only cost around £8 million in the summer transfer window. It’s understood that a host of Premier League clubs, including Norwich City, Sunderland and Aston Villa, tried to sign Haller in January but the youngster decided to stay in Holland. Ajax and Inter Milan are both rumoured to be weighing up a summer offer but the duo face stiff competition from Tottenham, who are chasing the Premier League title. Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be an attractive place to go if they can secure Champions League football for the next campaign and the extra funds available will help in the transfer market.

  • The French hitman has played at every international age level, also he has been in fine form this season, netting 21 goals in 31 games for the Dutch side and with a reported fee of £8m he could be an astute purchase for Spurs.
  • It’s widely believed that Pochettino is keen on adding more attacking strength to his squad, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min the only two real out-and-out striking options, and Haller, who definitely can score is top of the list.
  • His agent, Loic Gustan, has hinted that the 21-year-old will leave the club at the end of the season.

Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘Tottenham Are Close To Signing Prolific French Striker’ are ‘mostly true’.Mostly true

Gibfootballshow is a football website founded by myself…Andrew Gibney. The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points
