According to the Sun, West Ham United have added Watford striker Odion Ighalo to their transfer window wishlist. Slaven Bilic’s man are willing to splash out on a hitman this summer and like Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But Ighalo is another player they are looking at after his dazzling first season in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has made 35 appearances this season for the Hornets and has had a hand in 21 goals. It is believed Watford could be tempted to do business if they receive a bid in excess of £15million.
- The inability to keep Andy Carroll fit is understood to be a major factor in Slaven Bilic’s thinking as they move to the Olympic Stadium, but £15m fee could be too much for the Hammers, as co-owner David Sullivan told the Standard that the club have no money to spend on big wages, and this would surely surely out substantial transfer fees too.
- The Nigerian international has scored just one league goal in 2016, and his struggles have been mirrored in those of his team.
- Watford boss Quique Flores said they have no intention of selling an offensive leader.
Considering these facts, Gib Football Show concludes that the rumours claiming ‘West Ham Lead Arsenal in Stunning Swoop for £15m Powerhouse’ are ‘mostly false’.
