Gibfootballshow is a football website ran by myself…Andrew Gibney.
The site started in October 2009 to a very small audience, then during the 2010 World Cup and the great twitter boom of 2010 things started to pick up pace. There is no real agenda to the site, would like to think it covers a wide range of subject and talking points.
Be sure to check out the Yorkshire Football Weekends section, my adventure to visit loads of different grounds in the Yorkshire area, sample the pies and soak up the local atmosphere and report back to you the good people that read the site.
Steve Mitchell chips in with some excellent pieces on the wonderful world of Italian football, we will happily accept all manner of guest posts. David Bevan, Charlie Johnston,
Michał Zachodny and Adam Digby among others have featured on the site.
So far there has been one interview on the site, we were welcomed into the wondrous mind of journalist and writer Iain Macintosh – We hope to bring more interviews to the site during the summer and next season.
The main of the site has been the podcast. Started back in June 2010 the first shows featured Andrew on his own talking about the World Cup, the first show had 22 downloads. Three more World Cup show followed. The 27th of August saw the first show with guests, the first show that would resemble the current format. Brent Atema, Charlie Anderson and Chris Mayer were the guinea pigs…and we haven’t looked back since.
In December Charlie and me went to a swanky awards ceremony in London as the great guys from Pick Live Footie hostedthe NOPA awards where the show was nominated for “Best Podcast” unfortunately the superb Guardian Football Weekly picked up the award. It was an honour to be nominated though.
The podcast continues to grow, we now have contacts through the world, from Buenos Aires to Bury – the aim of the show is to provide coverage to the countries/leagues that don’t get covered often in the mainstream media. Hopefully we fulfil those criteria.
There is loads planned for next season, we’re also looking for some partners for the show. So if you like the show and want to help us promote it, please let me know editor (at) gibfootballshow (dot) co (dot) uk

Site is awesome, I have toyed with the idea for years for starting an NUFC blog, and I am a season ticket holder at Durham City FC. Look forward to your future work.
