The world of football betting is a fast growing reality and it is becoming little by little more known and progressively even more people are becoming interested in it.

Nowadays there are thousands of operators which have created their website where everybody, above age 18, can create a personal account and start to bet online or to play with games such as poker, other card games or casino games, such as slot machines.

The originality of these websites stands in the fact that they offer thousands of matches to bet on, even in real time time, and with scores that are costantly updated. Besides members of these websites can obtain some interesting bonus for their betting, for example through the Stan James promo code : BETJAMES.

We can also mention here one of the most important and prestigious operators of betting and games, William Hill, which was founded in 1934 and which was also the first operator in the worlds that created an online platform for betting in 1998. Still nowadays people can count on the reliability and great variety of bets and games offered by this website.

Football is, at least in Europe, the most common sport for betting, but most of the betting operators also deal with other sports like tennis, horse races and hockey, so also people who do not like football but are keen on other sports, can participate by becoming members of the website, start playing and have fun.  And of course the best part of it is the concrete possibility to win huge amounts of money, this is mainly what increases among people their passion for betting.

The 3rd of March 2009 it was a simpler time, it was a happier time. Around 2pm on what could have been any other Tuesday I began my own football blog. “Gib Football Anorak” was born. There was no agenda for the site just a place to slap down my thoughts on the game we all love.

The first post had quite a few decent points, regardless of how bad the actual writing was. In one post I questioned whether Arsene Wenger should step upstairs from the dugout. Wondered why Aaron Lennon isn’t constantly practicing his crossing, and how good a keeper Ben Foster is while playing for Man United.

So the the news out of Brazil last night was all about Ronaldo’s pending retirement. I thought out writing a fitting tribute to one of my favourite players of all time, but then I looked at my good friend Scott’s site and he had already captured everything I wanted to say.

So go to his site and read a wonderful tribute.

This weekend saw an abundance of great football matches and countless talking points, most of them centred around the match at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Liverpool in the FA Cup. Earlier in the day Sampdoria took on Roma at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and raised another talking point, one that is rarely brought up.

With Roma leading 1-0 away from home, substitute Juan sold his keeper Julio Sergio short with a horrible back pass, Sergio rushed out to win the ball Angelo Palombo skipped past him and Sergio could do nothing but bring the midfielder down. The referee had no choice but to point to the penalty spot and show Sergio a red card. Down to 10 men Claudio Ranieri then had to sacrifice Jeremy Menez to bring substitute goalkeeper Doni on the pitch.
