Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of activity on this blog. Time is a wonderful thing, but it seems like I just don’t have enough of it to go around. Most days I am writing something, just not for GFS. If you would still like to read my work please go on over to French Football Weekly and read what I am saying over there.

I think in my mind the decision was made quite a while ago, however it’s one thing to think about something and another thing to actually take action. Ah ok, I suppose I better let you know what I’m talking about.

The  GFS podcast is no more!!

*deep breathe*

Calling all writer and bloggers…gibfootballshow NEEDS YOU!!!

Here at GFS we are looking to expand our knowledge base for the new season. It would be fantastic to have a variety of writers/bloggers agree to write for the site about their league/country of interest.

Over the past since months it has been a pleasure to feature the work of some excellent writers from around the world. From Poland to Argentina to the Youth tournaments in Italy – gibfootballshow has had it covered.

So for next season we would like to bring the site in line with the goals of the podcast. Bringing the stories from the regions that the British mainstream press pretty much ignore, and spreading the information around the world.

So if you would like to write for gibfootballshow then please let us know. We are looking for people who concentrate on Spain, Holland, Germany, Scandanavia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia, North and South America….basically anywhere.

We are not looking for weekly reviews of the league action. Take a look at something the readers will find interesting and if it’s one/two pieces a months…great.

If you are interested please send an email with your section of interest to editor (at) gibfootballshow dot co dot uk

Look forward to hearing from you.

Editor of gibfootballshow

This time last year my site didn’t really exist apart from between my friends and I. 12 months on I would say it’s a little more successful. The podcast is going well and myself and the team have some big plans for next season and I hope that it can grow and grow.

You may have noticed that most of my time now is spent watching Ligue 1. I try to watch four games each weekend so that’s me having a look at nearly half the league every week. To me that is enough to have a good idea what I’m talking about – this leads onto podcast #2 French Football Weekly. Really enjoy doing that it’s my chance to do the talking and airing my opinions as sometimes on GFS I don’t get the chance.

Well at looks like someone, being of sound body and mind has decided to nominated the gibfootballshow podcast for an award.

The good people at PickLive.com run an awards ceremony for football bloggers, one of the categories is for Best Podcast, and somehow I have managed to squeeze my way in amongst some of the best podcasts around. The Guardian’s Football Weekly, The Football Ramble (Hoooooo!!!), Back Page Football, and twofootedtackle.com, all of them worthy winners, I am extremly happy just to be included with such respected pod’s.

And of course well done to everyone else who was nominated for an award, so many well deserved nominations, loads of good people missed out to, so honoured to be involved.

I have to thank the rest of my team – Chris, Charlie, Brent, Ethan, Gav newly acquired Brazilian correspondent Jack and of course everyone that’s bothered to listen and ReTweet the link on twitter. I feel a certain pressure now to up the game and maintain a standard, when really it’s four guys sat on skype complaining about football.

I will do my best to make it down to the awards ceremony, being in that there London it’s a bit of a trek, but I’d love to rub shoulders with the awesome bloggers that will be there. On the night there is a “People’s Choice” award, which we could technically win, but we would need your help.

If you can’t think of anyone else more deserving of the award, please feel free to use our pod as your voting choice. We would really appreciate it, and thank you for your support.
